So the little wrench icon popped up on my 2018 C300 dash this morning reminding me that service B is due and I called the dealer on Sheikh Zayed Road just to get a quote out of curiosity and nearly dropped my phone when they said two thousand dirhams for what is basically an oil change, a cabin filter, and a bunch of visual checks that I'm pretty sure they just tick off on a clipboard while drinking karak. I know these newer Mercs need the specific 229.5 spec oil and someone who can actually reset the service indicator properly without just using a generic OBD tool that doesn't talk to the ASSYST system, so I'm not about to take it to some random petrol station shop. I was searching around online for a decent independent that specializes in German stuff and I found royalprinceautocare.com/service/mercedes-oil-change which at least lists the right oil specs and the fact they do the full service reset procedure, but I'm just curious if anyone here has used them for their Merc and if they're actually thorough about checking the other wear items or if they just drain the sump and send you on your way. I'm not trying to be cheap with maintenance, I just don't like feeling like I'm being fleeced for something that any competent mechanic can handle in an hour. Anyone got a go to spot for their Mercedes in Dubai that won't make me feel like I need to take out a personal loan every time a service light comes on?
