As per our society, there are various gender roles that tell the view/perceptions regarding the characteristics, behaviours & responsibilities that belong to the individual on a gender basis. There can be many examples such as per the traditional norms, women are responsible for taking care of the family & do household Chores whereas men are supposed to be working outside to earn for the family.
So we can define these conventions on the basis of Physical Appearance, Profession Behaviour & Characteristics.
1. Physical appearance:
The appearance of any individual can be determined by society according to their gender. Most women are considered beautiful when they have a thin body & fair complexion. Men are considered attractive if they have tall height and a muscular body. So if Men or women do not have these features then they disrespected and oppressed by society.
2. Profession:
Our society considered the roles of men as taking all the financial responsibilities and work outside whereas they consider women are only for the household works. When these stereotypes started developing, the society added some new norms.
3. Behaviour:
Its the perception of society that women must be soft-spoken, calm, and quiet. Whereas men ought to be confident, loud, and could display any behaviour as per their wish.
4. Characteristics:
As per the characteristics, the woman should not argue or raise their voice against their fathers/elder brother/husband or any other senior male family members.
